2025 TOTALSPORTS WOMEN’S RACE PRIZE PURSE REVEALED

Following the groundbreaking announcement of a R1 million incentive for the first female athlete to break the Women’s Only 10km World Record at the Totalsports Women’s Race in Durban on Sunday, 03 August 2025, event organisers Stillwater Sports have confirmed that the series will boast a combined prize purse of R412500 in 2025.

Established in 2001, this iconic race continues to empower women through running, uniting thousands in a shared celebration of strength, resilience, and camaraderie. The 2025 edition will feature three unforgettable races in three major cities, over three consecutive weeks. The journey begins in Durban on Sunday, 3 August, continues in Cape Town on Saturday, 9 August, and concludes in Johannesburg on Sunday, 17 August 2025.

“We’re proud to announce a combined prize purse of R412 500 in 2025,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports. “With the series taking place across three cities on three separate days, the energy and excitement is tripled.”

Each event will have an equal prize purse of R137500. Prize money will be awarded to the top 10 finishers in the Open Category, with the winner receiving R30000, second place R20000, and third place R15000. Additional prize money will go to the top three finishers in the Junior, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, and 70+ categories.

Meyer concludes: “We’re proud to elevate the celebration of women by offering an impressive prize purse, featuring elite athlete participation and a World Record Incentive Bonus. We are committed to advancing women’s road running in South Africa, while striving to ensure a memorable and empowering race experience for all.”
