Chances of a Soweto derby final in the MTN8 were quashed following a draw for the semifinals that took place on Sunday evening.

Kaizer Chiefs, who came from behind to beat Maritzburg United 2-1 for place in the semis, were drawn against their arch-rivals Orlando Pirates, who saw off a challenge from Cape Town City in the quarterfinals.

Defending champions SuperSport United, who stunted newcomers Tshakhuma in the quarters, were paired with Bloemfontein Celtic, who edged out Mamelodi Sundowns 1-0 to progress.© supersport.com
