KWESTA COLLABORATES WITH BUDDING RAP GROUP A.S.E

Rising Teens rap ensemble, A.S.E is making serious strides in a relatively short space of time. The group composed of Eastern Cape-born artists, Ayabonga 13, Sivuyisiwe 15, and Esona 16Salakuphathwa, has not been in the limelight for a long time but has already outdone itself. These three siblings have achieved new levels, whether it’s blowing a meticulous cacophony or churning beautiful lyrics with new age hip hop tunes.

In a highly competitive industry, A.S.E, which was formed in 2016 and signed under X Royale Record Label, has managed to grab the attention of heavyweight hip hop artist, Kwesta, making an impressive collaboration on their jaw-dropping debut single, Empire.  The single which dropped 14 June as part of Youth Month celebrations,   promises to cement A.S.E as a group to look up for.  Produced by 16-year-old, Esonaa.k.a Will R.

Orbiting around concepts including hope, hard work, and other life issues, the group hopes Empire will be empowering to their fans.“The power of the song is in its empowering message first and foremost. It makes the song so genuine. We write about how we feel. We want the single to impact peoples’ lives in a meaningful way that makes them feel powerful. Hip-hop gave us a voice, a platform to express ourselves. We want people to feel they have a voice through this single,” says Ayabonga.

Meanwhile, Sivuyisiwe says Empire is a prophecy of what the group is yet to release.

“The single look into the group’s future and is also a celebration of what it has taken us to get to this stage. We hope it is a song that will inspire and motivate everyone working towards building their dreams.”

Reflecting on the group’s relationship with Kwesta, Esona says working with a hip-hop powerhouse like Kwesta has solidified the group’s standing in the music industry.

“Kwesta is one of the most influential figures in the local hip-hop, and working with him was such an honour. Besides being a great artist and lyricist, we felt that his journey and how hard he has worked to become the enormous brand he is today tallies with ours.

His contribution to the song was huge, it is an EMPIRE.” says Esona adding that working with Kwesta also challenged their work ethic.

The future is bright for the budding trio and they are here to stay.
