FIRST DAY OF 2023 SOWETO BLUE RIBBON KOTA FESTIVAL HAILED BY SPONSORS AND VENDORS

If you are a fastidious, voluptuous, a foodie and a drink connosisseur still resting on your laurels, Hurry Up !!! The much loved, anticipated and revered Blue Ribbon 6th annual Kota Festival is entering its second and last day today.

Yesterday throngs of attendees witnessed dozens of Kota outlets that sold delicious and sumptuous famous kasi meal during the first day of this food and drink festivity held at Elkah Stadium, Rockville Soweto.

The crowd were entertained to a blistering good taste music and free gifts were flying over the place much to the delight of the packed to the rafters crowd.

Kota Vendors also came in droves to sell and market their tasty smorgasbord delicious eats.

Most vendors were spotting a business friendly smile a sign that they were enjoying to be part of the festival and their business was thriving.

On the sidelines this publication spoke to a number of vendors, stakeholders, sponsors and budding entrepreneurs.

Samukelisiwe Sibiya, Marketing Manager From Thompson said, they were on cloud nine to be part of this landmark festival.

“We want to learn from the Soweto consumers and their way of life. We want them to tell us what they want from our brand. We specialise in products that are relevant and affordable. Our brand has been in existence since 1860.

“We deliver quality products and if you are looking for quality, convenience and a good taste don’t look anywhere Thompson’s brands have all those ingredients.”

Stephanie Hoy, Marketing Manager at Blue Ribbon told this reporter they were also happy to be part of this landmark and main sponsor of this much loved festival especially in Soweto.

“Events of this magnitude  aligns with our growth, ambition and brand positioning. We are an exciting brand that supplies the best tasting bread and we are famous for this taste in most communities.”

Sandile Mabuza, Production Manager at Aromat, said it’s all about giving the magic taste in communities especially and the Vendors .

“This festival will be used for our marketing strategy and a way of giving back to communities and make sure they are not left out by this ever growing brand.”

Katlego Chacha, owner of Bartender told this publication it was their first appearance in the festival.

“We are looking at selling out our much loved Cocktail drinks. Our intention to be here is visibility and interaction and promote our brand to people who want to book our services.

“We are a very affordable, cost saving brand that  offers  a friendly and a five star service,” Chacha pointed.

On the same vicinity, DSTV tent was also present and one of the sponsors.

Trevor Zungu, Event Organiser told this publication, they were hosting Gauteng Premier, Panyaza Lesufi, Sports Arts  and Recreation Minister Zizi Kodwa and two ministers.

“This event is about township economy. It’s a way of bringing people from outside Gauteng Province so that they can see for themselves amenities available in this province.

“Most of them have booked at local hotels and it’s a boost for local tourism industry.
