GAUTENG CONGRATULATES ORLANDO PIRATES FC IN RETAINING THE MTN8 CUP TITLE

The Gauteng department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation joins the country and the rest of the soccer world in congratulating Orlando Pirates FC for yet again retaining the MTN 8 Cup title against Mamelodi Sundowns FC.

Orlando Pirates FC defeated Mamelodi Sundowns 3-1 on penalties in the finals on Saturday, 07 October 2023 at Moses Mabhida Stadium,Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal.

MEC Morakane Mosupyoe said in congratulating the champions:” We would like to congratulate the Soweto giants Orlando Pirates for defending their MTN 8 Cup trophy against Mamelodi Sundowns FC.”

“It really was a battle of the Titans, Wafa Wafa, but the Buccaneers came out victorious against the Brazilians. Gauteng is very proud of the Sea Robbers for maintaining their MTN 8 winning streak. Well done to the Happy People”, added MEC Mosupyoe.
