A string of poor and disenchanting results has forced Kaizer Chiefs management to send beleaguered Coach Molefi Ntseki packing. Inside sources revealed the decision was sparked and precipitated by the recent 1-0 defeat by Amazulu in a Carling Knockout round of 16 at FNB stadium.
After the match gatvol and cheesed off Amakhosi supporters vented their anger by throwing missiles and objects on the field towards the Chiefs bench and there was pandemonium on the grandstands as supporters turned the crowd controlling gates up and down and eventually throwing them around the stands. Ultimately Ntseki and his technical team had to escorted to the dressing rooms by security personnel and a handful police officers.
At a post match media briefing, Ntseki told journalists this was a disappointing result.
“We are out of the cup no explanation can change the results. If you don’t get results you should be ready to be fired.”

CHIEFS AND NTSEKI PART WAYS
Following a meeting on Monday morning, Molefi Ntseki’s tenure as Head Coach of Kaizer Chiefs has ended amicably by mutual consent. Given the recent run of disappointing results, the parties agreed that this was the best course of action under the prevailing circumstances.
Cavin Johnson, who recently joined Chiefs as Head of the Youth Development Academy, will take over as the First Team coach on an interim basis. Current assistant coach, Dillon Sheppard will retain his position under Johnson.
Assistant Coach, Arthur Zwane will return to his former role within the development structures of the Club.
Coach Ntseki arrived at Chiefs in June 2021 as Head of Technical and Youth Development. He took over as the senior team Head Coach in June 2023.
“I would like to thank Coach Ntseki for his contribution to the Club since he arrived here, both at development level and with the senior team. We wish him success in his future endeavours,” said Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr.
The departing coach expressed his gratitude to the Chairman, Dr. Kaizer Motaung, and the Board of Directors for the opportunity to coach Amakhosi, and wished the team all the best for the rest of the season.
