THE BRAZILIANS SHIFT THEIR FOCUS BACK TO DOMESTIC LEAGUE

Mamelodi Sundowns will welcome KwaZulu-Natal side, Amazulu FC, at Loftus Versfeld for a midweek clash on Tuesday evening. The Brazilians are coming from a CAF Champions League sweep against FC Nouadhibou over the weekend and will be switching their focus back to the DStv Premiership before heading back to the Champions League on the weekend.

The last time the two sides met, Usuthu were the hosts and were defeated by Bafana Ba Style in a 1-0 occasion through a penalty kick by Lucas Ribeiro in the early minutes of the first half. In this return fixture, Coach Rulani’s men will look to repeat another victory against their counterparts, only this time, at home.

Downs are running on a tight schedule this year, having back to back games in both domestic and national competitions. With the return leg fixture against TP Mazembe coming up this weekend, Coach Rulani had to highlight that their focus is currently on their encounter against the KwaZulu-Natal outfit.

“We need to recover from our trip in Mauritania, watch the game and do analysis on our performance. We have a midweek match against Amazulu FC first before meeting TP Mazembe. We are taking it one game at a time and ensuring that we are well prepared for Amazulu,” he said.

Mamelodi Sundowns will host Amazulu FC on Tuesday evening at Loftus Versfeld. Kick-off is scheduled for 19H30 live on SuperSport TV.
