The road to finding South Africa’s next big star has reached an electrifying stage, as uShuni Womhlaba has announced the Top 3 finalists who will battle it out in the highly anticipated Grand Finale. The semi-final episode, aired live from TMF Studios on Sunday, 13 October, was nothing short of spectacular, featuring unforgettable performances as the contestants shared the stage with South African music legends.
After weeks of fierce competition, the three finalists moving forward to the final showdown are Mthobisi Gudazi (aka Gudaazi), Lindokuhle Mthimunye (Lindo Jay Music), and Thandikhaya Magayiyana (Joliza Bhacasoul).
These talented artists have captivated the hearts of Mzansi with their unique sounds, remarkable growth, and compelling stage presence.
Meet the Finalists:
Mthobisi Gudazi (aka Gudaazi) – Hailing from eManzimtoti, KwaZulu-Natal, Gudaazi has brought a soulful touch to the competition, fusing traditional elements with modern musical influences. Known for his powerful voice and expressive performances, Gudaazi has consistently wowed the judges and audience alike, showing his versatility across genres. Lindokuhle Mthimunye (Lindo Jay Music) – Lindo Jay Music, a vibrant and dynamic performer from eMalahleni, Mpumalanga, has made a name for himself with his unique Afro-fusion style that blends Afro-pop, Maskandi, and modern beats. Thandikhaya Magayiyana (Joliza Bhacasoul) – Representing Qheberha, Eastern Cape, Joliza Bhacasoul has emerged as a true embodiment of cultural pride and musical innovation. With a sound that resonates deeply with South African music traditions, he blends Bhaca rhythms with contemporary elements, creating a distinctive voice that stands out in the competition. His performances have been characterized by emotional depth and technical skill, winning the hearts of fans across the nation.

The remaining contestants will bring their best to the stage one last time, as they compete for the title of South Africa’s first-ever uShuni Womhlaba star.
The Grand Finale promises to be a night to remember, with captivating performances, special guest appearances, and the crowning of the winner who will take home the coveted title.
The winner walks away with a cash prize of R500 000, the runner up receives R300 000 and the musician in third place takes home R200 000. Added to this is an artist mentorship programme and a recording deal.
