KwaZulu-Natal’s Ezemvelo Women’s Football Club beat University of Cape Town 2-0 in the final of the 2024 Sasol League National Championships final on Sunday morning out in Knysna to be crowned champions.
Goals from Nonhlanzeko Gwala and Banele Madondo in the first half broke the stubborn students and breached Goalkeeper of the Tournament Kaydee Windvogel, who only conceded three goals during the tournament.
Ezemvelo will walk away with R200 000, while runners-up of this year’s Sasol League National Championships, University of Cape Town, will receive R100 000.
The individual awards were given to the following:
Referee of the Tournament- Hloniphile Msezane
Assistant Referee- Nolitha Mlhomi
Goalkeeper of the Tournament- Kaydee Windvogel (UCT)
Top Goalscorer of the tournament- Matshwantsho Dlamini – Kovsies FC
Player of the Tournament- Zamandosi Nene (Ezemvelo WFC)
Most promising player of the Tournament- Mavis Maiacane – Super Strikers
Both teams have gained promotion to the 2025 Hollywoodbets Super League season.
