Betway South Africa congratulates Betway Premiership clubs Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch FC on emphatically securing semi-final positions in their respective CAF Interclub competitions.

Betway Premiership title chasers, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates will for the first time in the history of South African football, simultaneously compete in the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League.

Equally, Stellenbosch FC, who are making their CAF Confederation Cup debut, will fly the South African flag in the semi-finals of the competition after eliminating title holders Zamalek in front of a packed crowd in Cairo, Egypt.

“This moment bears testament to the growing competitiveness of the Betway Premiership. These achievements represent a significant milestone not only for the clubs themselves but for the Betway Premiership,” said Mark Rowles – Betway Head of Marketing.

“Betway’s sponsorship of the Premiership remains rooted in its brand promise of upholding the Premiership’s well-deserved title of being the best on the continent. Having three Betway Premiership clubs competing against the best teams on the continent bears testament to the Betway Premiership’s tagline that football is indeed in our blood – Lisegazini. Forever,” concluded Rowles.

For the first time in the history of the CAF Champions League, which dates back to 1964, Africa could witness an all-South African continental final, should Betway Premiership sides, Sundowns and Pirates advance.

History also beckons in the CAF Confederation Cup, where Stellenbosch FC’s dream debut could see them being the second club in history to lift the title as debutants since 2010.

Betway proudly congratulates Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch FC for this historic continental feat.
