VICTORY FOR EITHER CHIEFS OR SEKHUKHUNE COULD SEE DOWNS TOPPLED INTERIMLY AS LOG LEADERS

Betway Premiership top spot will be up for grabs this evening as Kaizer Chiefs return to action against Sekhukhune United at their own fortress FNB Stadium.

Whoever win this clash will topple Mamelodi Sundowns who are sitting on the summit of the log  with 14 points after humiliating Magesi FC 3-0 over the weekend.

Sekhukhune United are second with 13 points and Amakhosi occupying the third spot with the same  number of points as Babina Noko due to a goal difference.

The two sides have met 8 times since 2021 and Chiefs have won four games and Sekhukhune managed to beat them twice and two draws.

Glamour Boys website reports that Amakhosi will be gunning for another clean sheet at their fortress home stadium, while simultaneously looking to unlock Sekhukhune’s defence and claim top spot on the Betway Premiership table.

Furthermore The website points out coaching team, led by Nasreddine Nabi, will assess the five players who were on international duty during the recess on their return to Naturena. They are Mduduzi Shabalala, Thabiso Monyane, Naledi Hlongwane, Luke Baartman, Fiacre Ntwari and Mfundo Vilakazi.

The two outfits will be gunning for a straight win to consolidate their no loss record since the beginning of the 2025/26 PSL season.

 During their Media open day yesterday upbeat Chiefs players told the media off season preparations in Netherlands  helped them a lot.

Zitha Kwinika, Chiefs defender pointed their success this season was triggered by new faces who want to do well for the club and themselves.

“We respect Sekhukhune as one of the best team in the league  and the experience and quality they have.  Everyone is prepared and focused its time to show up that we are up for the game. Our objective is to try and collect much points as possible at home because away matches are very  difficult, t we must use the home advantage .

Playing Sekhukhune We are going do what we need to do, we want maximum points.”

Amakhosi Miedfielder, Siphesihle Ndlovu told Journalists  he was happy to get minutes under his belt at Chiefs, adding he was very happy he was finally at Chiefs. warmly welcomed at Chiefs.

I was warmly welcomed. We have done our best to prepare for this match obviously it’s a very difficult encounter but I am happy we started on a front foot. We are looking forward to it.”

In preparation for this clash Coach  Nabi first revealed, they have tried to take advantage of the international break to improve the players physical condition on their  tactical principles.

“ We organised  friendly games for the whole group in order to  have everyone involved. There are lot of players who have not had minutes in their legs, not enough time playing and new players to see . We are heading into a very busy schedule ahead of us. We want everyone to be ready to see who is going to be needed for this encounter.

“Looking at the standing of the log it’s going to be a tough game against a very tough opponent they are a team that has experienced players and a competent coach.

We expect a positive result it’s not going to be easy for either us and them. it’s a game that is going to played in details concentration on this whole game is a must.”
