On this, 21 April 2015, South Africa lost one of its most revered sons of football, former Bafana Bafana midfielder John Shoes Lesiba Moshoeu.

Moshoeu was part of the victorious Bafana Bafana squad that won the 1996 Africa Cup of Nations.
He played as an attacking midfielder.

Shoes, as he was best known to fans, was born in Ga Mashashane, Limpopo and grew up in Diepkloof, Soweto.
