“The City of Johannesburg is proud to host the Joburg Ladies Open as part of our ongoing efforts to position Johannesburg globally as a sports destination of choice. At the same time, we are growing and empowering women in sport and demonstrating our commitment to supporting and developing golf across all communities,” she said.
Cllr Masuku highlighted the city’s journey in showcasing its world-class infrastructure through hosting the tournament at various venues over the years. From Royal Johannesburg & Kensington Golf Club to Soweto Country Club, Modderfontein Golf Club, and now Randpark Golf Club, the event has travelled across Johannesburg, reflecting the city’s diversity and readiness to host international sporting events.

She further underscored the importance of collaboration of public, private partnership, which has ensured the tournament’s sustainability and growth, delivering positive results for the city and its partners the Sunshine Ladies Tour and the Ladies European Tour.
“The continued partnership between the public and private sectors has been instrumental in the success of this tournament. Together, we have created a platform that yields strong results for us, the Sunshine Ladies Tour and the Ladies European Tour, while opening opportunities for local talent,” Cllr Masuku noted.
She also extended an invitation to spectators, investors and aspiring young golfers to be part of the action throughout the week. “We welcome spectators and potential investors to come and experience the excitement of the Joburg Ladies Open and support the tournament for free.
