Sunday’s exciting list of fan activities was confirmed on Thursday during a press conference attended by the Premiers Soccer League, Betway, the two clubs, Stadium Management South Africa as well as representatives from the JMPD and SAPS.
With the season fast approaching its business end, fans attending Sunday’s match will enjoy an exclusive opportunity to see the Betway Premiership Trophy up close at the Betway activation area located at Turnstile 19, creating a memorable moment for fans ahead of kick-off.
Also making an exciting return following its warm reception at the last derby will be the Betway Win-O-Meter which sees the best-dressed fans guaranteed to walk away with exciting Betway prizes ahead of kick-off.
As part of the season’s ongoing Betway S’bonise & Win campaign, Sunday’s Soweto Derby has been elevated to a S’bonise & Win Dial-Up fixture, meaning one lucky Orlando Pirates supporter that has a valid and active Betway account stands a chance to win up to R50 000.00, adding even more anticipation to an already highly charged occasion.
Speaking ahead of the Derby, Betway South Africa Head of sponsorship Jason Shield heaped praise on Betway’s ongoing innovation to creating memorable match day experiences for fans.

To qualify as an entrant, the participant/ entrant must:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Purchase a valid match ticket for any broadcast Betway Premiership fixture
- Be wearing home team regalia or colours
- A natural citizen or permanent resident
- The winner will only ever be contacted in person at the stadium by a Betway representative
Betway S’bonise & Win mechanics are as follows:
- The SuperSport outside broadcast team will select a fan in the stands between the first 30-minutes of the game
- The Betway representative will receive communication from the SuperSport outside broadcast team with an image of the winner and position in the stadium
- Once the winner is found, the Agency Stadium Rep will ask qualifying questions:
- Verification that they are over 18, proof required.
- Verification of match day ticket.
- Willingness to be on camera.
- They must be sober-minded until the end of the game and willing to move from their seat at any moment during the game.
- Confirm with the Betway call centre that the winner has an active account if the winner indicates they have one.
- A fan can only win once during the entire season.
The Betway S’bonise & Win prize is as follows:
R10 000.00 cash prize or R20 000.00 if they have a valid and active Betway Account.
