Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has announced his final 26-member squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Belgian announced the final team for the FIFA World Cup at Sefako Makgatho Presidential Guest House in Pretoria on Wednesday, 27 May 2026 and he was joined on the podium by South Africa President Cyril Ramaphosa, Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture Gayton McKenzie and South African Football Association (SAFA) President Dr Danny Jordaan.

President Ramaphosa congratulated the players and said they would be the country’s ambassadors in the coming weeks in the tournament to be held in North America. This year’s FIFA World Cup will be hosted by the United States of America, Canada and Mexico from 11 June to 19 July 2026.

In the lead-up to the World Cup opening match, scheduled for 11 June 2026 at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico, Bafana Bafana will play their final match in South Africa against Nicaragua at Orlando Stadium (Amstel Arena) on Friday, 29 May 2026. The kickoff is at 18h00.

The South African Football Association (SAFA) has confirmed that Bafana Bafana will play a friendly match against Jamaica in Mexico as part of the team’s preparations for the global tournament. Broos’ charges faced Panama in two international friendly matches in March 2026.
