Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou believes his team will beat their opponents, La Cure Sylvester, when they meet at the Orlando Stadium for the second leg of the CAF Champions League this afternoon.
The Buccaneers and the Mauritius-based outfit played to a goalless draw in the first leg in Mauritius last week.
Addressing the media yesterday, the self-assured Bucs gaffer revealed that their preparations for this important clash went smoothly throughout the week.
“We will try to show another face of Pirates. It is important for us to keep our principles on how we play. If we face an impact, we have to respond to that impact.
“It is important to have the right balance when playing in such a competition. You need to have and manage some experience.”
When pressed about any doubtful starters and injuries in the team, he said, “I am very happy that the medical room is starting to be empty, which is very good for the team.”
As reported by the club’s website, coach Ouaddou is on record saying:
“We had the first half in Mauritius. We went there to get a result and at least score a goal. We didn’t, but we have a chance here at home to go through to the next stage.”
His counterpart, La Cure Waves coach Jerome Thomas, said: “It’s football, and anything can happen. We realize it will be extremely difficult. We are up against an African giant playing on home turf, in a stadium that holds thousands of fans.”
Furthermore, during the briefing, Thomas revealed that it would be amazing to score against the biggest club.
