Four South African Referees have been called up to officiate in a crunch CAF Champions League Group B encounter between Algerian side, MS Alger and 2016 competition runners up, Zamalek on Wednesday, 21 June at the Stade Juillet in Algeria.
Victor Gomes, Lindikhaya Bolo, Sandile Dilikane and Victor Hlungwani will form the quartet of SAFA referees appointed by the governing body of African football to officiate in one of the most hostile venues on continent.
Gomes will be making his second trip to North Africa after officiating in a high-profile match between Cameroonian side, Coton Sports and Egyptian powerhouse, Al Ahly in Cairo earlier this year while Hlungwane was also part of a trio that officiated in a recent Champions League match in Sudan between Al Hilal Elobied and Gambia Ports Authority FC in April.
Gomes is appointed at the match referee and will be assisted by Bolo and Dilikane while Hlungwani holds the fort as the fourth official.
The quartet is expected to jet off to Algeria on Sunday,18 June.
