New Ajax Cape Town striker Sedwyn George says he has settled in at the Premier Soccer League side and is looking to take his career to the next level in the coming season.George was signed from National First Division side Royal Eagles after winning the Golden Boot in the second-tier with 20 goals in 25 starts for the KwaZulu-Natal club. The Pietermaritzburg-born star is untested in the South African top tier, but says he is ready to take up the challenge. “It is good to be here at Ajax Cape Town, I am really enjoying the environment and the facilities here are the best,” the 25-year-old told his new club’s website. “Pre-season has but tough but it’s part of the job as I am putting in hard work which will be beneficial in the long run. I am ‘gelling’ well with the guys, enjoying every minute here and it feels like I have been here for a long time. George knows that his exploits last season mean all eyes will be on him, but adds he will focus only on his own game and not worry about the chatter around him. “Football is a game of pressure, all I need to do is work hard and all the pieces will fall together,” he said. “My goal for the season is to better my performance from last season and win some silverware with the team.” Sourced from the PSL website. |
