Harrison invited to CAF Refereeing Workshop

14 August 2017 – South African Football Association (SAFA) referee, Christopher Harrison has been invited to the CAF Referees Young Talents Workshop. The five-day workshop, conducted by senior CAF Refereeing Instructors will be held from 11 September to 15 September at the CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.

The 29-year-old South African referee is amongst 32 top referees from across the continent selected through a lengthy process by the CAF Referees Division who have shown consistency in upholding the high standards of modern officiating.

Besides the vigorous fitness tests, in-depth theoretical discussion and testing of the referees technical competence, the referees will be taken through the latest innovations and laws of the game to ensure that they are up to speed with the latest developments of the game.

“We are excited to have one of our own representing us at this importance workshop. It goes to show the great work being done by the association in so far as referee development is concerned. We wish Christopher the best of luck in Cairo” said SAFA Technical Committee Chairperson, Ms Natasha Tsichlas.

This is Harrison’s second trip to the CAF HQ this year after attending the FIFA Referees Course in March where he was accompanied by Thando Ndzanzdeka and Lindiwe Thwala.
