PIRATES LOCK HORNS WITH CITY IN QUARTERS

Orlando Pirates will lock horns with Polokwane City in a Telkom Knockout Cup quarterfinal match at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 8:15pm.

The Buccaneers are coming off a disappointing 3-1 home defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns in an Absa Premiership in midweek.

Prior to the league encounter, Pirates had booked their place in the quarterfinals with a 1-0 victory over Lamontville Golden Arrows in Durban last weekend.

The 2011 Telkom Knockout Cup winners are looking to reach the semifinals for the second time in two years having lost to SuperSport United in the last four last year.

Meanwhile, Polokwane are coming off a morale-boosting 0-0 draw with an in-form Kaizer Chiefs side at home in a league match in midweek.

Rise and Shine advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Ajax Cape Town 4-3 on penalties at home following a goalless draw last weekend.

This was Polokwane’s first ever victory in the Telkom Knockout Cup and they will be making their maiden appearance in the quarterfinals.

Possible starting line-ups:

Orlando Pirates: Mabokgwane, Matlaba, Nyauza, Chabalala, Marc van Heerden, Mobara, Sarr, Qalinge, Lorch, Makola, Gabuza.

Polokwane: Chigova, Semenya, Ravhuhali, Mbonani, Maponyane, Seabi, Phiri, Klaas, Ramagalela, Maluleke, Ndou.
