ORLANDO PIRATES REVEAL 2018/19 HOME AND AWAY KITS

Orlando Pirates today revealed their new adidas kit for the 2018/2019 season, showcasing a bold new look while retaining strong elements of classic shirts from the Club’s rich history.

In a year where the Club continues to celebrate 80 heroic years of existence, the design of the black home kit pays homage to the traditions upheld by the previous and iconic Orlando Pirates jerseys. With a subtle black-on-black striping that brings a sophisticated feel to a jersey steeped in deep-rooted culture and value, the 2018/2019 home jersey moves effortlessly beyond the playing fields and into the fashion space as a timeless piece of day-to-day style wear.

The away jersey sees the return of the powerful, striking two-toned red stripe pattern that reflects the Club’s ongoing quest to restore pride to the famous badge of one of Africa’s most celebrated football institution.

“We are more than just a club, and our kit is more than just something we wear when we play. It’s an integral part of who we are as team, it’s what we identify with as a family, and it’s the rallying call that our players will heed when they take to the field on match day. This is our Club. This is who we fight for, and the 2018/19 jersey is the war-paint on our skins that symbolizes our preparedness for the season’s battle to come” said Tokoloho Moeketsi, Orlando Pirates Brand Activation Manager.

Paul Bester, Senior Brand Activation Manager for adidas SA, said: “Orlando Pirates is an iconic club with such a rich history, so it was important that the kit be modern while staying true to the heritage of the Club.”

The new Orlando Pirates kit will be available on Tuesday 17 July at the Pirates Shop at Orlando Stadium, online at piratesshop.co.za and adidas.co.za, in adidas concept stores and at selected sports retailers across the country at a retail price of R799.
