ADIDAS AND FC BAYERN MÜNCHEN REVEAL BAVARIA INSPIRED AWAY KIT FOR 2024/ 25 SEASON

–       The bold new design is inspired by the heart of the Bavarian region – Theresienwiese

–       Core to the design is a celebration of Munich’s iconic bronze ‘Bavaria’ statue, whose representation of strength and glory can be found in bronze and oxidized green accents across the shirt

Today, adidas revealed the new FC Bayern München away kit for the 2024/25 season – a bold new jersey design inspired by ‘Bavaria’ – a statue that personifies the strength of the club’s Bavarian homeland, residing in the heart of Theresienwiese in Munich.

Delivering a fresh aesthetic for the club’s new generation, blue and green swirls throughout the black base of the jersey, providing a look reminiscent of the shades seen on the statue’s surface. Applying elements of the club’s tradition to an otherwise contemporary design, this pattern flows throughout the entire jersey, including behind the crest that lives on the heart of the shirt – binding iconic elements of the club with a new look and feel.

Glimmers of ‘Bavaria’ can also be seen within the bronze detailing used across the iconic club crest, the adidas logo, sponsor logo and the three stripes that feature on the shoulders of the jersey. Completing the design is the sign off ‘Mia San Mia’ that features in bronze on the rear of the neck collar, in reference to the phrase and song synonymous with the club and its players, and the historic success achieved on the European and domestic stage.

Sam Handy, SVP of Product and Design at adidas said: “Theresienwiese represents the best of Bavaria and Munich – it’s a bustling spot where people come to connect. To ensure this iconic local hub was properly represented, we looked to its centre point – ‘Bavaria’ – to deliver a contemporary representation of tradition and culture. With this design we wanted FC Bayern’s players and fans to always feel connected to the club’s home, even when playing away.”

Crafted for performance and to help provide world-class players with the confidence to play under pressure, the lightweight jersey features the latest in adidas technology.

The on-field version of the jersey is constructed with HEAT.RDY technology, using advanced materials to maximize air flow to keep players feeling cool, while the fan version features AEROREADY technology, which uses sweat-wicking or absorbent materials to keep the body feeling dry.

The jersey is available to purchase for R1399, from today via selected retail stores, and online at www.adidas.co.za/soccer-jerseys.
