
adidas Football goes back to the archives to reveal the latest addition to its limited collection roster: ‘Predator +TEAMGEIST’, inspired by the iconic 2006 FIFA World Cup Official Match Ball. The boot launches in the Predator 25 model and is given the +TEAMGEIST design treatment via an updated tooling graphic and haptics, both of which are inspired by the detailed lines seen on the 2006 FIFA World Cup ball.
Football fans will remember the infamous gold, black and white colourway of the +TEAMGEIST ball, and it’s these colours which adorn the limited collection Predator boots. The upper is constructed of white blocking, while gold hues don the sole plate and adidas logo on the fold-over tongue. The three stripes and laces in black complete the look. Further nods to the ball feature via a +TEAMGEIST sign-off and the word ‘PREDATOR’ and ‘2006’ date printed in the +TEAMGEIST font on the elastic band.
Bringing the boot to life via a bank of striking imagery and video is former adidas Predator player and Spain legend, Raúl, who said of the launch:
“My relationship with the adidas Predator is a very special one. It’s the boot I wore during so many incredible moments of my career, and the boot in which I scored so many goals. The Predator +TEAMGEIST takes the best of the Predator and blends it with one of my favorite World Cup balls and the result is a thing of beauty. I hope fans love it as much as I do.”
Predator TEAMGEIST arrives in the latest Predator 25 model, which includes an upgraded STRIKESKIN, re-engineered to enhance grip between boot and ball, via higher quantities of – and longer – rubber elements on the strike zone of the boot. For an improved fit and feel HYBRIDTOUCH 2.0 is again applied across the upper of the boot, but with less layers to reduce break-in time, and provide a more moulded fit, while also providing additional cushioning in key areas for comfort and a soft touch on the ball.
The boot will be worn on pitch by some of the game’s most iconic players, including Jude Bellingham and Aitana Bonmati.
