1 November 2018 – The South African national U17 Women’s team intensified their 2018 FIFA World Cup preparations with their second training session on Tuesday 30 October at the Parque Sport Centre in Uruguay.

The Simphiwe Dludlu coached team has completed two training sessions without any additional casualties, however there was a scare when Fikile Magama came out second in tussle but she completed the session.

The goalkeeper Leigh Brophy continued with her rehabilitation under the watchful eye of the strength and conditioning coach Minky Tshabalala and coach Dludlu is pleased with the player’s progress.

“Leigh is recovering well and busy with her rehab at the moment. We don’t want to rush her back too early so we still have a few more days where she is part of the warm up and the goalkeeper sessions. We don’t want to rush her and throw her into playing infield but her rehab is looking very positive and should be back on the field soon,” said Dludlu.
