Bantwana Captain

24 October 2018 – Bantwana captain, Sibulele Holweni has applauded the South African Football Association (SAFA) for ensuring that most of the players’ studies were catered for ahead of this year’s FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.

Holweni, who was writing her IsiZulu paper III final exam on Wednesday morning (24 October 2018), also added that the Association’s effort in organising a personal tutors for them, helped a great deal with their respective studies.

Bantwana are currently in camp preparing for this year’s upcoming FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup set to take place in Uruguay from 13 November – 1 December 2018.

“I would really like to thank SAFA for coming up with these arrangements,” Holweni said. “The FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup came at a time when most of us were busy with our final exams. They Association (SAFA) came up with a win win effort to help us manage that challenge.”

Holweni added: “Having personal tutors during this period helped a great deal and this helped us cope with our studying material.

“All credit must go to the Association because this arrangement was really a masterstroke.”

Bantwana will jet off to Uruguay this coming weekend on 27 October 2018 to continue with their preparations before their Group B fixture kick-off on 13 November 2018.

In that group, Bantwana will lock horns with Mexico, Japan and Brazil in pursuit of reaching the knockout stages of the competition for the first time ever in the history on the national junior side.
