TEN-MAN CELTIC FIGHT BACK TO STOP BAROKA

Goals from Victor Letsoalo and Kabelo Dlamini saw Bloemfontein Celtic sharing a point against Baroka FC as they drew 2-2 in the Absa Premiership at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The draw for the hosts sees them placed at number 12 with 34 points.

Siwelele pushed for an early lead, but the Free State side could not create clear cut chances in front of goal.

It was the hosts who dictated the proceedings as they also wanted to cement their spot and qualify for the MTN8 Cup competition next season.

The opening half, however, had no goals.

When they emerged from the tunnel Siwelele scored through Victor Letsoalo when he made it 1-0 in the 59th minute.

Bakgaga Ba Mphahlele made it 1-1 in the 61stminute through Abdi Banda, but they could not hold on to their lead.

Phunya Sele Sele conceded in the 79thminute when the Tanzanian completed his brace to ensure they were in the driving seat.

As it looked like Doctor Khumalo’s side were walking away with the full three points, they could not clear their lines at the back and substitute Kabelo Dlamini scored to level matters.

Dlamini made it 2-2 in the 90th minute to ensure Veselin Jelusic’s men walk away with a point from the clash.

In the wake of the draw, Celtic are now placed at No 9 with 36 points and have one game remaining to wrap up their league campaign.
