The second season of the Betway 12th Man programme officially comes to a close on Wednesday, 27 November celebrating the growth and transformation of the 12 sporting legendswho have partnered with Betway.
After six months of in-depth engagement with a wide variety of sports and business experts, the 12 participants are set to graduate from the programme and officially step into a new life challenge – readily equipped with all the essential tools and knowledge to step into the dynamic world of business and entrepreneurship.
In line with its goal of ensuring that all participants practically put to use their newly found knowledge and skills, Betway has introduced the Betway Innovation Series which will see the participants presenting their unique business ideas to a panel of judges. The most compelling business concept will receive seed funding worth R300000.00
The Betway Innovation Series marks an exciting close to the programme and will see each participant challenging themselves and implementing the newly acquired skills and business acumen.

About the Betway Innovative Series:
The selected candidates will have what they believe to be a viable and profitable business idea or already operational business, but lack start-up funding, funds for promotion or expansion.
- Each participants opening pitch, is advised to keep to a maximum of 3 minutes, participants must clearly state their name, the name of the business, the amount of money they require and the means in which the start-up funding will be utilised.
- Each participant is provided with 15 minutes per pitch. This will vary based on numerous factors which will depend on the judges.
If the judges believe the business plan proposed is not credible, the participants will be subject to feedback on grounds that widely vary, but particularly upon knowledge
- of their financial forecasts/profits and over-valuation of their business.
- Should the judges cite areas of the business plan they find desirable or enticing, questioning may pause whilst the judges discuss elements pertaining to their specific case.
- If the judges see overall potential in an investment being made, the pitch will conclude with the judges offering the full amount of money.
- If an offer is accepted, they leave the pitch with verbal assurance that they will soon be in contact. They receive the respective judges contact details from the organisers.
