CARLING KNOCKOUT FINAL SET TO BE A BIG REWARD FOR FINALISTS AND CHAMPION FANS WITH R900, 000 UP FOR GRABS IN FAK’ IGOAL UZOBONA

The inaugural Carling Knockout final is set to give a much bigger reward for the two finalists and champion fans with the prize money for the Fak’ iGoal Uzobona innovation increasing from R90, 000 to R900, 000.

Stellenboch FC will take on TS Galaxy in the final at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium on 16 December, with kick off at 15:00.

These two entertaining teams reached the final after dominant displays against KwaZulu-Natal hopefuls where they captured the imagination of Mzansi by both scoring three goals to eliminate Richars Bay and AmaZulu in front of their home crowd.

Stellies reached the final after beating Richards Bay 3-0 in the first semi-final at King Zwelithini Stadium. The club’s striker, Iqraam Rayners, took home the Man of the Match award for the third consecutive game, pocketing R300, 000 to date.

This game had over 21 000 Fak’ iGoal Uzobona predictions, with many of them in favour of Stellenbosch FC who will be playing in their first-ever final.

TS Galaxy’s Lehlohonolo Mojela scored the tournament’s fastest goal after just 80 seconds. His effort earned him the Man of the Match award and helped the Rockets bag R88 000 through the Fak’ iGoal Uzobona promotion.

Fak’ iGoal Uzobona is Carling Black Label’s innovative drive to push teams to score early in the Carling Knockout and Carling Cup.

To take part in the Fak’ iGoal Uzobona promotion, champion fans must dial *120*660# and follow the voice prompts to predict which team will score the first goal and on what minute. Ts&Cs apply, USSD 20c/20s.

Stellenbosch have received R172 000 having scored first in all their three matches, while TS Galaxy has received R165 000 having scored first in the Round of 16 as well as in the semi-final.

The final promises to be an exciting contest between two teams that have a sharp eye for talent and back their youth. The winning team on 16 December will not only be the first to have their name on the Carling Knockout trophy, but they will also walk away with close to R7-million and will take on a Carling All-Star team on 16 January next year at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

The Carling All-Star team will feature six players from the other 15 premier division teams and six players from their Diski Challenge squads. The blend of youth and experience ensures that future stars gain valuable experience and can strut their talent on a massive platform.

To select their favourite players, champion supporters can dial *120*660# and follow the prompts. Or they can go to the website www.carlingblacklabelcup.co.za (Ts&Cs apply, USSD 20c/20s).
