Each litre of qualifying product purchased earns the FastScan programme member a point. These points accumulate quickly as Castrol products are used – and can then be redeemed once a minimum threshold is reached. Currently, rewards are available for purchases of five leading Castrol product lines, namely Castrol GTX, MAGNATEC, CRB, Vecton and TRANSMAX, with more products expected to be added over time.

Once enough points are earned, mechanics can immediately generate a digital voucher directly in the app. The voucher is sent to their cellphone via SMS and can be redeemed at a wide range of South African retailers – both online and in-store – for a selection of items ranging from groceries and appliances to tech gadgets and tools. There are no complicated steps and no delays. Mechanics simply use FastScan to scan, earn and redeem rewards – all from their phones.

There’s an extensive knowledge hub built in to the app that gives users access to practical, up-to-date information, education and training via a range of “How To” videos and technical advice articles – helping them stay sharp as vehicle technologies evolve.
