Derby fever, coaches speak their mind

The 2019 PSL first derby of the season has set tongues wagging in all Mzansi corners.

The ferocious arguments gains momentum at Workplaces, Taverns , trains, taxis and buses every time the two sides lock horns .

Even families gets divided when the Soweto Derby, undoubtedly the biggest clash of the season between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates takes place countrywide.

This time around this mouth watering derby is expected to generate a maximum interest among soccer lovers triggered by last week’s win by Amakhosi over Pirates via penalties in a Telkom Knockout clash.

In the absence of Pirates representatives, Chiefs Spindoctor, Vina Maphosa, told the media that Chiefs supporters all over the country and beyond are ready for the encounter.

He also emphasised the need for them to come to the stadium  early  as there will be a lined up entertainment.

“Whichever team won on the day, it will be in the spirit of the beautiful game. Those who lose must lose generously.”

Chiefs Coach, Ernst Middendorp.

“Its always difficult to play a midweek match before a derby. We take it game by game, but the derby match is very important to us.”

Khama Billiat, Chiefs Forward. “We are looking at ending the season on a high note. We are challenging ourselves to see how far we can go with our winning streak. We are a big club and expected to do well in every game.”

Rulani Mokoena, Bucs Coach. “Pirates always try to win all football matches. We respect every opinion. But Chiefs are favourites in this one.”
