The King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi, Durban will host this weekend’s MultiChoice Diski Challenge (PSL Reserve League) festival – the competition’s penultimate round of fixtures. This weekend’s festival, which could decide the destination of the coveted Diski Challenge trophy, will take place on Saturday, 11 and Sunday, 12 February 2017. Gates open at 09h00 on both days.

It’s all to play for at the summit of the table with only one point separating log leaders Bloemfontein Celtic from second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns. Other teams still within a chance of winning the competition are Bidvest Wits (3rd), Kaizer Chiefs (4th), Maritzburg United (5th) and Highlands Park (6th).

Entry is free on both days but members of the public will be issued with a ticket as part of access control. Tickets will be available at the stadium’s ticket office on Thursday and Friday from 13h00- 18h00. They will also be available at activation points in and around Durban. Only two tickets will be allocated per person on a first-come-first-served basis.

The MDC title race was blown wide open this past weekend when Bloemfontein Celtic scored a stoppage time winner against Orlando Pirates to leapfrog long time log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns who dropped valuable points in their match against Free State Stars. Three teams; Bidvest Wits, Kaizer Chiefs and Highlands Park, all have an outside chance of lifting the trophy after grabbing maximum points this past weekend to keep their title hopes alive.

Celtic will kick-off proceedings on Saturday at 11h00 when they host Ajax Cape Town knowing that a win would edge them closer to their maiden MDC title. Soweto Giants, Orlando Pirates and defending champions Lamontville Golden Arrows, both out of the title race, will do battle in the second match of the day at 13h00.

On Sunday, fifth-placed Maritzburg United and Polokwane City will play the first match of the day at 11h00 with Maritzburg needing maximum points if they are to stand any chance of winning the trophy. Then at 13h00, second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns and fourth-placed Kaizer Chiefs will lock horns in what is expected to be a ‘six-point’ thriller which will most likely have a bearing on the destination of the trophy.

Fans attending and those watching live on SuperSport 4 and Select (Channel 210) stand a chance of winning a trip for two to Netherlands accompanying the winning team. Competition details are available on the competition’s social media pages, Asidlali on Facebook and @Asidlali on Twitter, as well as at the start of the live broadcast on SuperSport 4.
