
The stage is set for one of Africa’s premier women’s golfing events as the Joburg Ladies Open returns to the prestigious Modderfontein Golf Club from Thursday, 3 April to Sunday, 6 April 2025.
This highly anticipated tournament will bring together 132 top international golfers, competing for glory in what promises to be an exhilarating showdown on the fairways.
Co-sanctioned by the Sunshine Ladies Tour and the Ladies European Tour, the Joburg Ladies Open has become a cornerstone event on the global golfing calendar. With its challenging course layout and picturesque surroundings, Modderfontein Golf Club offers the ideal setting for four days of intense competition and world-class golf.
Hosted by the City of Johannesburg, the event continues to play a vital role in promoting women’s sports, boosting tourism, and driving local development. Spectators can look forward to a stunning display of skill, precision, and passion as elite athletes vie for top honors and a substantial prize purse.
The tournament will also feature various community engagement initiatives, including the impactful Birdies for Dignity programme, along with hospitality offerings that celebrate the spirit of sport and unity.
The Birdies for Dignity initiative has made a remarkable difference since its inception. In its inaugural year, over 1,000 dignity packs were delivered to students at Zenzeleni Primary School in Alexadra. In 2024, the initiative extended its support to Bramley Primary School in Region E, providing more than 500 dignity packs.
