13 August 2021 – Reigning Women’s League champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies remain unbeaten in this season’s campaign and look the team to beat as they extended their lead at the top of the log standings.
The relentless league champions played their two catch up matches inside four days and from the recent form, will take some beating.
On Saturday, 7 August 2021, Downs travelled to Free State where they thrashed hosts Tsunami Queens 8-0 before comfortably overcoming University of Johannesburg 2-0 on Tuesday, 10 August in Pretoria to extend their lead on the Hollywoodbets Super League standings.
The champions took their points tally to 28 and are slowly running away with the league title, midway through the season.
Meanwhile, the University of the Western Cape managed a 1-1 draw with Ma-Indies Ladies on Saturday in Giyani before coming with guns blazing, blowing away Golden Ladies 6-0 on Tuesday to cement their second spot position on the log standings.
JVW Ladies who of late have gone off the boil after starting the season like a house on fire, were held to a 1-1 draw by Coal City Wizards to remain rooted on 6th position on the log.
The highlight of this coming weekend’s matches will be at King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban where Durban Ladies will host the University of Western Cape. That match kicks off at 13h00.
Coal City Wizards travel to Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium to face Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies, while First Touch Academy host the University of Johannesburg at Seshego Stadium in Polokwane.
Golden Ladies will have to dig deep when they host the Tshwane University of Technology at the North West University in Mafikeng while Tsunami Queens travel to Tsakane Stadium to play JVW Ladies.
Unbeaten Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies host Richmond United at Groenkloof Stadium while the last match of the weekend sees Ma-Indies Ladies hosting Thunderbirds Ladies on Sunday 15 August 2021 at Giyani Stadium.
