Joburg Zoo will be transformed for one night only into a Spooktacular, ghoulishly ghost land. Are you ready to face your fears? We’re pulling out all the stops!
Visitors can look forward to ghastly ghouls, zombies, corpses, scary clowns, and more. You’ll be tricked and treated, spooked and scared at this year’s Spooktacular Owl’oween at the Joburg Zoo on 26 October 2024 from 17h00 to 21h00.
Here are some terrifying theme zones for visitors to look forward to:
• Enchanted Hogwarts Academy: Step into the world of magic and mystery. Wander through the hallowed halls of a spellbinding castle, where you’ll encounter magical creatures and bewitching sights. Join in on wand-making workshops, potion-brewing demonstrations, and meet characters who bring the wizarding world to life! Wear your best robes and get ready to cast a spell or two.
• Pirates of the Cursed Tide: Ahoy, mateys! Sail into the high seas with our Pirates of the Cursed Tide zone. Explore a swashbuckling pirate ship, navigate through a haunted treasure island, and hunt for hidden loot. Be on the lookout for one-eyed ghostly pirates and cursed treasures as you embark on an adventure filled with mystery and excitement. Shiver me timbers and prepare for a night of thrilling escapades!
• The Haunted Harvest: Experience the eerie charm of the Haunted Harvest, where autumnal beauty meets spooky fun. Stroll through a twilight corn zone, meet friendly (and not-so-friendly) scarecrows, and enjoy festive fall treats with a spooky twist. Perfect for families, this zone combines the best of our Owl’oween frights and fall delights in a harvest-themed extravaganza.
