Gauteng number one citizen, Premier Panyaza Lesufi is expected to deliver the 2026 State of the Province address (SOPA) Monday evening 23 February 2026.
The event is billed to take place at Nasrec Expo Centre in Johannesburg during the official opening of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature.
According to a terse statement issued by the Premier’s office, Lesufi is expected to use the address to outline the Gauteng Provincial Government’s Plan of Action and provide an update on the progress made in in implementing key programmes under the 7th Administration.
His office also issued a stern warning that, Access to the venue will be strictly by accreditation only.
They also advised the members of the fourth estate to arrive at the venue by 15h00 on the day for security clearance.
“Limited parking and broadcast positions are available; early application is strongly recommended,”read the statement.
