The no-nonsense Stadium Management South Africa(SMSA), has issued a stern warning and assured football supporters attending today’s DSTV PSL derby match between arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates that all hands will be on deck to handle all the logistics and challenges leading to the much awaited and anticipated soccer spectacle match with distinction.
The two Soweto giants are expected to lock horns this afternoon for the three league points at a packed to the rafters FNB stadium.
During the week at Press Briefing build up to this match, Bertie Grobbelaar, Managing Director of SMSA told a packed media and sponsors this match was a biggest sporting event in Mzansi. “Its an honour and a privilege for us to be involved in preparations of such a spectacle.”
Grobbelaar also revealed preparations started three months ago adding that they are 100% confident their preparations plans will prevent any hiccups and possible setbacks.
“Its not good enough anymore to just say spectators must come early. We have joined hands with a software developer who has designed a navigation App that will help diverting fans away from a gridlocked traffic. This will help re-routing and lessen congestion towards the gate. We have also prepared 120 scanning points outside the stadium perimeters that will speed up entry to stadium,” Grobbelaar argued.
He also urged people to enjoy the spectacle.
“It’s going to be a dog fight on the pitch. Let’s rather focus on that.”
