December 2017, Durban – With almost two weeks to go to the biggest outdoor summer event on the music calendar, the 15th Annual DURBAN JAZZ FESTIVAL, we are excited to announce our exciting plans ahead of this spectacular music affair! The festival will run over two days, starting on the 25th December with the GOSPEL UNDER THE SKY event featuring MTN Joyous Celebration and finishes off on the 26th December 2017 with great hits and live performances from contemporary jazz, mainstream jazz, afro jazz and other fine jazz genres

Our Patrons can expect exhilarating live performances from the likes of legendary Caiphus Semenye, Thandiswa Mazwai, Ringo, Jaziel Brothers, Amanda Black, Brenda Mtambo, Soul Kulture, Thee Legacy, Robbie Malinga, Simphiwe Dana, Bongani Nkwanyana, Bongi Mthombeni, Nomfundo Xaluva, Mondli Ngcobo, Naima Kay, Scelo Gowane, Jabu Khanyile Tribute, Mdu Mahlobo, Tutti Groove, UKZN Jazz Big Band, Lasandra, and many others…
New this Year:
15 Years later, we continue to enjoy massive support from the public, the music industry, government and corporates. Besides the extension of the festival to two days, the sterling array of artists, the improvement of our internal systems and corporate governance, other new offerings include a commercial VIP, which means people can now purchase tickets directly from computicket, and also corporates and other interested parties can buy corporate packages in the form of lounge setups, corporate marquees or corporate parks. Also parking has been improved, big enough to accommodate all without the need to park far from the site, also an option to be ferried for our VIPs.
“Our main goal as we celebrate our 15th year is to restore the festival to its former glory as a “jazz” festival, family friendly and highly anticipated by all with improved access and minimal bottlenecks as people move in and out”, adds Wanita Ngcobo – Project Director for the Durban Jazz Festival.
Road to Durban Jazz Festival Activation:
With the summer season in full swing and everyone in a festive mood, we are just as excited to wait for the main events…. Join us on the 17th December 2017, 18h00 at Mashamplanes Lounge in Durban as we pave the way for the festival through the “Road to Durban Jazz Festival” activation which will feature artists and celebrities such as Naima Kay, Mondli Ngcobo, Zandi Khumalo, Lasandra Fey, DJ Meech, DJ Kotin, DJ Wonder, DJ Happygal, DJ Boonu, DJ Menace, DJ Mlisa, DJ Ndloh, DJ Thukzin, Tha Simelane and Slot the MC.

Tickets to the Festival:
Tickets are now available at all Computicket outlets, Shoprite/Checkers from R295.00 general access, R360.00 golden circle and R1500.00 platinum VIP. Parking Stickers are available for only R110.00 at Petroport N2 Northbound. Attendees are advised to bring camp chairs, braai stands, picnic baskets and cooler boxes to the event venue.
