JDA WELCOMES NEW BOARD MEMBERS

The Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA) proudly announces the induction of its new board members on Tuesday, 10 September.

The induction marks a significant milestone for the JDA as it continues its mission to drive sustainable urban development and economic growth in Johannesburg. The new board members bring a wealth of experience and expertise that will be instrumental in guiding the agency’s strategic initiatives.

Chairperson Julias Maputla expressed his enthusiasm for the new board, stating: “We are excited to welcome such a talented and diverse group of individuals to the JDA board. Their collective knowledge and passion for development will undoubtedly propel our projects to new heights.”

The Member of the Mayoral Committee for Development Planning in the City of Johannesburg, Cllr Eunice Mgcina, stressed the importance of the JDA’s work in the city’s development planning. “The JDA plays a crucial role in shaping the future of Johannesburg. With the new board members on board, we are confident in our ability to achieve our ambitious goals for the city’s growth and development.”

JDA CEO Themba Mathibe said: “This induction is a testament to our commitment to excellence and innovation in urban development. We look forward to our new board members’ fresh perspectives and dynamic leadership.”

The JDA welcomes Julias Maputla, appointed as the Chairperson of the JDA Board and welcomes the following non-executive directors:

·       Mally Hilda Mokoena

·       Mongezi Ntanga

·       Morwesi Thonga Ramonyai

·       Vukile Hamilton Hlongwa

·       Siyabonga Masiza

·       Tshepo Nawane

·       Boitumelo Molelekeng

·       Nomakhosazana Ella Veyi and

·       Thabo Sibeko

The JDA also welcomes the following Independent Audit Committee Members:

·       Winnie Nozuko Yawa

·       Ellen Rakodi

·       Dalton Madimetja Ramaoma and

·       Oupa Madala Galane

As the custodian of Johannesburg’s capital infrastructure projects, the JDA remains steadfast in its commitment to driving positive change and fostering inclusive growth throughout the city.

Together, the board and management will collaborate constructively to realise the JDA’s mission in planning, implementing, managing and facilitating area-based developments in efficient, equitable, sustainable and innovative ways.
