Joburg Market has appointed Ntombifuthi Khumalo as Executive Manager: Corporate Services, bringing on board a seasoned leader in organisational transformation, governance and people-centred management.
With experience across multinational manufacturing and automotive firms, Khumalo combines strategic leadership and operational excellence with strong corporate governance expertise. She holds a BCom and Honours degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology and has led transformation initiatives across public and private sector boards, strengthening systems, performance and accountability.
Drawn to Joburg Market’s reputation as Africa’s largest fresh produce market, its clean audit outcomes and Top Employer status, she views Corporate Services as a strategic partner to the business. She will oversee Human Resources, Corporate Governance, Legal and Compliance, Health and Safety, Security, and Administrative Support Services.
Her priorities include strengthening internal controls, enhancing accountability and embedding sustainable systems to support organisational resilience. A key focus will be improving employee engagement, guided by insights from the recent Employee Satisfaction Survey. Planned interventions include structured development programmes, a comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme and a Reward and Recognition Framework to foster a high-performance, values-driven culture.
