RE: JOSHCO’s ANTI-FRAUD AND CORRUPTION CAMPAIGN

The Johannesburg Social Housing Company (JOSHCO) will stage an anti-fraud campaign on Friday, 10 March 2017, as part of City-wide drive to flush out fraudulent activities and inspire public confidence.

Led by its newly appointed CEO, Mr Anthony T Ngcezula, board members, management and staff, JOSHCO will take to the streets of Dobsonville and Jabulani to distribute flyers and posters to enlist the help of residents in joining the fight against corruption.

The anti-fraud and corruption blitz in Soweto will start at 10:30am and end at 12:30pm at JOHSCO’s Dobsonville project located at Mmesi Park on Elias Motsoaledi Road. The campaign will continue at the Jabulani project located on the corner of Koma and Bonani roads from 1:30pm until 3:30pm.

JOSHCO has made a great strive in reducing fraud and corruption in the company. Six of its employees have had their employment contracts terminated and one is currently serving a seven-year jail term for fraud and corruption.

When the Executive Mayor of the City of Johannesburg, Cllr Herman Mashaba, took office in August last year, he declared corruption as public enemy number one and strengthened efforts to fight the scourge by appointing General Shadrack Sibiya as head of Internal Investigations to root out fraudsters from the public service.
