The Philly’s Games together with DStv officially kicked-off the 2023/24 tournament campaign after hosting the draw on Wednesday, 13 December at the Hang Awt restaurant, in Tembisa, the township that has been home of the Games since 1992.
The 32nd edition of festive games is set to kickoff on Wednesday, December 20 and run until January 2, 2024. Twenty-four (24) kasi teams from across Gauteng will battle it out for the winner’s cheque of R220 000,00 at the conclusion of the final that will take place at the Mehlareng stadium, the Runner-up will receive R80 000,00 while the 3rd and 4th will receive R30 000,00 and R20 000,00 respectively.
The founder of Philly’s Games, Philly Mathebula said “ What a great achievement it is to reach this milestone; 32 years of changing lives and helping others reach for their dreams, while growing and developing this wonderful game. The successful partnership between DStv and Philly’s Games has made it possible for us to provide yet another opportunity for kasi teams to compete for the R220 000 prize Money and showcase their talent. We are excited to get 32nd edition of the tournament underway.”
Over the years, the tournament has been attended by thousands of Kasi football fans and football stars alike such as Mamelodi Sundowns’ captain Themba Zwane, AmaZulu FC’s George Maluleka, legends Teko Modise, Katlego Mphela, Happy Jele to name a few.

To show our commitment, all the Philly’s Games matches will be shown live on DStv Access (Channel 209 SuperSport Variety 4). The live productions include pre-match build-ups, half time analysis and post-match interviews from 20th Dec till 02nd Jan 2024” said Tshepiso Sathekge, Sponsorship Senior Manager at MultiChoice SA.
