Pretoria, South Africa, 6 December 2025, the highly anticipated 4th edition of the Mayibuye iAfrika Concert – The Rebirth of Ubuntu returns by popular demand for a one night only presented in proud partnership with the South African State Theatre and aligning with Reconciliation Month. This immersive production promises artistic experience that echoes the nation’s journey toward transformation, unity, and diversity.
The Mayibuye iAfrika Concert is an independent artistic platform that champions cultural expression and national identity and is not affiliated with any political organization.
Produced and curated by renowned guitarist, composer, and author Billy Monama, this four- hour musical odyssey blends South Africa’s rich cultural tapestry with powerful performances that bridge generations. Backed by a 20-piece orchestra, arranged and conducted by Grammy Award-winning producer Joe Arthur, the soundscape promises to be nothing short of unforgettable.
“The Rebirth of Ubuntu is more than a concert — it’s a cultural statement,” says Monama. “It’s about remembering who we are, honouring where we have come from, and imagining a more compassionate future together.”
Audiences will be treated to performances from six of South Africa’s most celebrated artists, each bringing their unique voice to this celebration of Ubuntu and artistic excellence: Simphiwe Dana, Judith Sephuma, Maleh, Langa Mavuso, Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse and Elvis Blue.
