MMC ARNOLDS TEES OFF JOBURG LADIES OPEN, SHOWCASING JOHANNESBURG AS A PREMIER SPORTING HUB

The Joburg Ladies Open officially commenced on Thursday, 3 April as Cllr Margaret Arnolds, Joburg’s Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Finance, struck the ceremonial opening shot at Modderfontein Golf Club.

The prestigious tournament, part of the Sunshine Ladies Tour, attracts elite professional golfers from around the world. With live broadcast coverage on SuperSport, it not only highlights Joburg’s capability to host world-class sporting events but also bolsters its reputation as a global sports destination.

Speaking at the event, Cllr Arnolds urged fans to support the talented athletes competing. “These incredible women make golf look effortless, yet their dedication and skill are extraordinary. We encourage spectators to come out in numbers and witness their excellence firsthand.”
