NQOBILE KHWEZI, THE FASHION POLICE HOST AT THE NEDBANK CUP FINAL EXPERIENCE

With the Nedbank Cup officially having concluded with an exciting game between Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns and the Ya Rona House was yet again a hub for the ultimate fan experience, welcoming superfans, media personalities, football ambassadors, and content creators alike.

Orlando Pirates emerged victorious, with a narrow 2-1 win over Sundowns to secure back-to-back Nedbank Cup titles. But it was Nqobile’s stylish ‘fashion police’ that truly stole the show at the fan experience, and fans were treated to an exclusive fashion walkthrough led by none other than the ever-so-stylish SuperSport presenter.

With her keen eye for style, she went around doing a ‘drip check’ on attendees, asking them to describe their looks and share the inspiration behind their outfits.

One of the highlights of the day was Nqobile’s interaction with football legend Teko Modise. Dressed to impressed, Modise sported a Manchester City football T-shirt paired with a striking green jacket, perfectly reflecting the Nedbank Cup colours. His confident and trendy look is always a hit among the fans.

Chef Benny, a renowned Kaizer Chiefs supporter, showed his support for neighbourhood rivals Orlando Pirates on the day by donning a long white shirt and black pants. His classy and understated attire received special acknowledgement from Nqobile. She said: ‘I love it. It’s clean, it’s simple and sophisticated. I like it.’

One Orlando Pirates fan particularly stood out with his vibrant floral shirt, which he proudly described as ‘resembling the South African rainbow nation. I put together all colours in 1 shirt.’His creative and colourful outfit embodied the celebratory spirit of the Ya Rona House, emphasising the inclusive and diverse nature of the event.

The Ya Rona House proved to be more than just a venue for watching the Nedbank Cup Final; it was a celebration of culture, fashion and community. Nqobile’s‘drip check’ highlighted the individuality and creativity of the superfansand all who were in attendance.

By using the Ya Rona House as a space where everyone is welcome to come together in support of their varying teams and express themselves, it was true to its essence that described this year’s Nedbank Cup as ‘the one that belongs to us all.’
