OPPOXPIRATES GOAL OF THE MONTH FEB/MARCH FINALISTS

What started out as nine nominees for the OPPOxPirates Goal of the Month competition has now been narrowed down to two finalists, each vying for the top spot.

A lucky fan stands a chance to win a brand new OPPO smart device by simply choosing the goal they believe was the best in the flurry of goals netted by Orlando Pirates between February and March.

After two rounds of voting, the two finalists left standing are crucial strikes that helped the Buccaneers secure victory in two epic fixtures played at FNB Stadium over the past two months.

Patrick Maswanganyi’s last-minute winner in the Soweto Derby against Kaizer Chiefs makes up half of the Top 2. The 26-year-old’s “Panenka” sent fans into a frenzy for days after ensuring that Derby bragging rights plus crucial three points went the way of the Buccaneers.

That goal is in direct competition with another equally important strike in the form of Relebohile Mofokeng’s fifth-minute stunner against Mamelodi Sundowns. The young forward completed a quick brace to give Pirates’ a handy two-goal cushion in the top-of-the-table clash en route to an important 2-1 win.

One of these could be named the OPPOxPirates Goal of the Month with fans deciding which of the two takes home the title.
