POPULAR KASI FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT, PHILLY’S GAMES COMES TO LIFE ON DSTV THIS FESTIVE SEASON!

South Africa’s biggest off-season football tournament is officially here, as DStv, in partnership with the Philly’s Games, officially launched the 31st edition of the country’s most popular kasi festive season football competition.

Set to take place between 19 December 2022 and 2 January 2023, Tembisa will once again become the centre of attention for Kasi Diski lovers as proud sponsors, DStv and SuperSport gear up to elevate grassroots football to even greater heights, thanks to its trusted world-class broadcast, that will see Kasi Diski being showcased beyond Tembisa and televised live across the country.

As a key component of this sponsorship, DStv is excited to be affording viewers live coverage of all matches on SuperSport Channel 202 and 209. The live production allows for a unique viewing experience of Kasi Diski in high quality TV production which also includes pre-match build-ups, half time analysis as well as post-match interviews and analysis from some of SuperSport’s best on-air talent.

With this year marking an impressive 31-year milestone, the tournament has successfully established itself as a catalyst for unearthing raw diamonds and being a trusted conveyer belt for talent that continues to dazzle the DStv Premiership and Diski Challenge.

DStv’s Sponsorship Senior Manager, Tshepiso Sathekge said the brand’s partnership with the Philly’s Games speaks to its commitment and philosophy of supporting local talent in the form of both sport and entertainment, while also complementing DStv’s existing football sponsorship assets.

“The well-documented success of the Philly’s Games lies in more than just unearthing of talent. The tournament festivities successfully bring together football and entertainment, while also boosting township economic activity and promoting social cohesion. Such a competition speaks back to what DStv is passionate about, sport and entertainment – coupled with the added value of enriching lives. We are therefore proud to once again demonstrate our commitment to South African football through our sponsorship of the Philly’s Games,” said Sathekge.

“This exciting partnership richly complements our ever-growing portfolio of local football sponsorship, which we are equally excited to bring to life through cutting edge and world-class broadcast technology for all South Africans to enjoy from the safety and comfort of their homes during this festive season,” he continued to say.

Tournament founder, Philly Mathebula said: “The relationship with DStv is a partnership of two organisations that have the community’s best interests at heart. In addition to the football action, the Philly’s Games provides an entertainment alternative for the Tembisa community. This coupled with DStv’s ability to showcase the games live on SuperSport, it provides exciting entertainment value for families across the country throughout the holidays”.

In addition to the 13-Days of live action and entertainment, fans will be treated to exciting fan engagement competitions and daily prize give-aways as part of the DStv #Kuzobamnandi festive season campaign.
