SASOL APPOINTS NEW EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT FOR MINING

Sasol has appointed Sandile Siyaya as Executive Vice President: Mining, with effect from 1 September 2025, with the retirement of Hermann Wenhold, EVP: Mining, SHE and Risk.

Sandile has spent most of his career at Sasol having been awarded a Sasol bursary to study Mining Engineering. He joined Sasol Mining in 2007 as an EIT and quickly progressed to management ranks through his consistent display of excellent leadership skills.

Sandile was appointed as SVP: Sasol Mining, on 1 July 2023. He is known for his ability to bring teams together where engaging and inclusive environments are created. He enjoys working in and with diverse teams and has demonstrated his ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams that deliver results. He is well-respected internally as a firm but fair leader.

Sandile’s deep-rooted understanding of Sasol Mining, combined with his strategic acumen and leadership skills, positions him as the ideal candidate to succeed Hermann.

I have full confidence that under his leadership, Sasol Mining will continue building on the strong foundation laid by Hermann in stabilising and improving the business,” said Simon Baloyi, Sasol President and CEO.
