Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs will be battling it out in another edition of the Soweto Derby in what is undoubtedly the headlining act of this weekend’s DStv Premiership action.
The Buccaneers are hosting the highly-anticipated clash which takes place at FNB Stadium on Saturday, kicking off at 15:30, with a sell-out crowd expected after all available tickets were sold days before the first whistle.
For the first time since the two Clubs battled it out in Soweto on 27 February 2020, spectators will be able to take in the unique atmosphere of the iconic rivalry from the match venue.
Entertainment on the day stretches beyond just the action on the field, with those attending set to enjoy performances from some of the country’s top talent in Young Stunna, Robot Boii and Bontle Modiselle-Moloi.
In the lead-up to what promises to be yet another thrilling Derby, Orlando Pirates along with Stadium Management South Africa (SMSA) has issued out some vital information regarding the logistics for the big clash.
Fans wishing to attend the Soweto Derby are encouraged to arrive at the venue as early as possible, with gates opening at 11:30.
Several transport options are available, and those travelling to FNB Stadium using their own private transport can enjoy free parking in the safety of the stadium’s perimeters. Members of the public are also urged to be wary of illegal car guards in the area.
For those looking to make use of the VIP Hospitality or Media parking areas, a relevant ticket will be required in order to gain access. Premium parking tickets are available on Ticketmaster.co.za.
Public transport options are also available, and those travelling using the Gautrain can make use of the bus service from Johannesburg Park Station to FNB Stadium. Up to 30 buses have been made available for the public travelling to and from the game and Gautrain rail users can board for just R4, while non-rail users pay just R18.
The last Gautrain bus will depart the venue at 19:30 in time for the last train leaving Park Station at 20:30.
Other options available are e-hailing services such as Uber, Bolt and DiDi, as well as minibus taxis.
