The much anticipated grand showdown MTN Wafa Wafa humdinger final between Highlands Park and Supersport United is on this Saturday at Orlando Stadium .
An earshattering R8 million is at stake , R25 000 for every goal scored and a further R25 000 is up for grabs for the man of the match. This was revealed at a press briefing held at the same stadium.
Nomsa Mazibuko, Brand and Communication Manager at MTN promised that mind blowing music entertainment will be at full display.
Highlands Park Coach, Owen Da Gama down played the possible outcome of this match by conceding that they are underdogs given that his club has never won a cup since promoted to the Premier Soccer League last season.
His nemesis Kaitano Tembo, said, “We have to try and win this cup. It comes once. At Supersport wether you are building a team, you are expected to win trophies.”
Pressed further, this is what the two coaches had to say.
Da Gama
“We are building a team that will be able to compete healthily in every PSL cup competition in the next 3 to 4 years. Big match temperament players has helped this team to achieve what we have achieved so far.

“Winning a cup is good, but the experience of playing in a cup final is vital. If we win it will go down to our history books. Management has worked hard and they deserve the credit.
“We will give this final a good shot. At Highlands Park we try at all times to balance emotional intelligence. When we win we don’t over celebrate because there are other games coming.
“Another motivation for the players is that half amount of the prize money will go to the players.”
Tembo
“We respect our opponents for reaching the final, they are a good team. It was very painful to lose in the final last season.
“We have to find a solution to match them pound for pound, says Tembo. “
“In this league we know each other’s strengths and weaknesses.
“We have to find a solution to match them pound for pound. Personally having coached at the development structures within the club, I have to try and do a good job in this final in order to leave a good legacy because its not easy for development coaches to land a first team job.
“At Supersport we win together and lose together. And its good that players get rewarded for their efforts.
“We are a solid team with a very good work ethics. We have quality in the team that can try and break any defence.
