The Premier Soccer League (PSL) acting Chief Executive, Mato Madlala has heaped praise on victorious Mamelodi Sundowns following their Multichoice Diski Challenge (PSL Reserve League) triumph this past weekend.The Brazilians claimed their first ever Diski Challenge trophy on Sunday afternoon in front of a packed crowd at Sinaba Stadium in Daveyton, Ekurhuleni after a comfortable 4-1 victory over Cape Town City.
Madlala congratulated Mamelodi Sundowns for the achievement. “The third season of the MultiChoice Diski Challenge has been particularly competitive and tough. We would like to give credit to Mamelodi Sundowns management, technical team, the players and the club supporters for the feat. I think it is now an accepted truth that the MultiChoice Diski Challenge has added a spark in our football and the results on the field – mainly in giving platform to many youngsters – have been remarkable. We would like to thank our partners, MultiChoice for a wonderful journey,” Madala said.
Added to lifting the beautiful MDC trophy, Mamelodi Sundowns have also bagged themselves the coveted prize of an eight-day training camp in the Netherlands. The trip to the European country is awarded to the overall winners of the Diski Challenge.
